As the year draws to a close and the festive season approaches, it is customary for Ndi Ebenesi, Ngo, and Awuda to celebrate both separately and together.

Village Day celebrations are a cherished tradition that brings communities together, fostering a sense of belonging and unity.

However, as we reflect on the purpose and execution of these events during the 2024/2025 festive season, it becomes increasingly clear that we must direct our focus toward activities that have meaningful and lasting impacts on the people of our villages.

Reserving Funds for the Less Fortunate

The quarters in Nnobi will soon commence fundraising activities for these celebrations. Through the goodwill of the people of Abalukwu Nnobi, millions of Naira will be raised to fund the festivities.

The essence of any celebration lies in the joy it brings; however, true joy is amplified when shared.

A celebration that includes everyone shines brighter than one that focuses solely on one day’s enjoyment.

With high inflation affecting food prices and necessities, many families are finding it increasingly difficult to provide for themselves.

Therefore, it is important to reserve 60% of the funds raised for those who may not have the means to celebrate. By doing so, we acknowledge the diverse economic backgrounds within our community and extend a hand to those who might otherwise feel excluded.

As part of our commitment to supporting the less privileged during this festive season, organizing food distribution initiatives can make a significant difference.

By allocating more than 60% of the funds raised to food items this festive season and distributing them to struggling families, we not only alleviate some of their burdens but also reinforce the importance of community solidarity.

This act of generosity strengthens community bonds and reinforces the idea that Village Day is a time for everyone to come together in joy and solidarity.
