Nnobi: Say No to the Seductive Whisper of Hate

Nnobi: Say No to the Seductive Whisper of Hate

                      I

The winds may whisper words of rift
Calling hearts to tear and drift
But woven deep in Nnobi Ani-Nso’s land
Are ties too strong for careless hands

                       II

In the valleys of Mmili Obiaja
Beauty masks our silent tears
Where love once bloomed in ogbako umunne
Now tales of longing, war unfold

                       III

Shattered dreams
Broken trust
Torn apart in scattered dust
What shall remain when all is gone?

                      IV

Yet, even amid this darkness
Abalukwus risk and toil together
We share defeat through hardship’s weight
We press ahead
In sickness, struggle, even death

                       V

When Governor Soludo’s bulldozers rolled into town
Did they ask whose shop would drown?
Did they discern which shop belonged
To Onye Ngo or Onye Awuda?

                       VI

Did the caterpillars ask whose tears would fall?
Did they spare a clan or name?
No, they tore, they crushed, they plowed
And Nnobi bled, but no name was called

                       VII

So, for those who call for a break and tear
Those who want to see our future waste and die
Pause and question what lies there
Free yourselves from traps and hate

                      VIII

Hot soup hurts the careless lips
Nnobi’s fate must be handled slowly
For to fracture is to wound our own
To sever is to bleed ourselves dry

                      IX

Let us embrace our bond,
Our intertwined fate
We stand, not in isolation
Not as islands adrift on rage

                      X

Let us stand in unity
Hand in hand
For Nnobi Ani Nso’s dawn
Say No to the Seductive Whisper of Hate
